MS1826 Multi-Function Video Processor

The MacroSilicon MS1826 is a multi-function video processor integrating four independent HD audio/video inputs, four independent HD audio/video outputs, and four configurable I2S / SPDIF digital-audio interfaces. It supports four independent OSD windows with user-defined font libraries, four video playback engines, deinterlacing, video enhancement, frame-rate conversion, and multi-layer video blending for multiview and display-processing systems.

  • Supports VESA and CEA-861-F video formats, plus RGB / BT.601 / BT.709 colorimetry.
  • Automatic input video timing and InfoFrame detection, input auto EQ, and programmable EDID.
  • Programmable input HPD and output HPD status detection.
  • Interlaced-to-progressive conversion, edge-correction deinterlacing, global noise reduction, and 3:2 / 2:2 pull-down detection.
  • Dynamic peaking and brightness, saturation, contrast, and hue adjustment.
  • Four independent video scalers with independent horizontal and vertical scaling and flexible frame-rate conversion.
  • Up to eight input video layers for mixer output with alpha blending and Color Key.
  • One fixed-angle rotation path supporting 90°, 180°, and 270°.
  • Video-data compression for frame buffer, input cropping, and horizontal/vertical video flip.

Design Notes

  • MS1826 is the balanced 4-in / 4-out member of this series. For 4-in / 1-out systems, evaluate MS1826A; for 1-in / 4-out distribution systems, evaluate MS1826B.
  • Embedded DDR, OSD, video blending, and frame-rate conversion all affect bandwidth planning. Validate against the target resolution, color depth, and number of layers.
  • High-speed HD channels, DDR, power rails, and clock design should follow authorized MacroSilicon hardware references.
